José Miguel Burgos' life has evolved around soccer. Born and raised in Chile, Burgos was a member of the youth soccer teams of Deportes Concepción and Universidad Católica between 1997 and 2002. During these years Jose quickly matured, developed and was widely recognized for not only his virtues as a player, but also the ease by which he developed relationships with players, trainers, coaches and managers.

In 2002, José Miguel Burgos accepted a full scholarship to play college soccer in the United States. In 2006, Burgos graduated with a degree in Economics (BA) from University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) where he was featured as one of the best players in the history of UIS Soccer Program.

His experience as a player, his academic knowledge, his ability to be fully bilingual (English and Spanish), in addition to the strong relationships he has built in the football community in South America and in United States, were the main reasons that drove José Miguel Burgos to form, together with Iñaki Sánchez de Zatarain, International Soccer Consultants, a firm that -as Jose points out- "has the potential to become, within a few years, one of the leading agencies in representation of Latinamerican soccer players".
